Lighting your cigar

When you lite a cigar the primary objective is to NOT allow the flame to touch the tobacco. A match, lighter or torch can transfer the flavor of sulphur or butane to the cigar. An aficionado will suggest that you light a cedar stick and light your cigar with it. Cedar is a wood that is neutral, it does not impart it's own flavor into a cigar. This is why humidors are made of cedar. But you see torches used everyday to light cigars, why? If you use the heat of the flame, not the flame itself then you get the easiest way to light a cigar. Remember the most heat from the flame is just off the tip.

Cigar rolling classes. These hands on classes are presented by our Founder and Master Cigar Roller, Odelma Matos. You will learn all about the production of premium hand made cigars. During this class you will be working with tobacco and making your own cigars. The class is approximately two and a half hours long and held at the La Faraona Cigar Factor 1515 E 7th Ave, Ybor City. We are EXCITED to announce the opening of our second location
Our new Cigar Lounge is open just two blocks down the street at 1315 E 7th Ave. The La Faraona Cigar Lounge has big comfortable arm chairs and sofas for you to sit and talk, listen to great music or watch one of our big screen TV's.
